About Minesweeper
Minesweeper is a legendary puzzle game that has been entertaining and challenging players since the 1960s. The game was popularized when it was included with Microsoft Windows in 1990, becoming one of the most played computer games of all time.
The objective is simple: clear a rectangular grid containing hidden mines without detonating any of them. You reveal cells by clicking on them, and each revealed cell shows the number of adjacent mines. Using logic and deduction, you must identify where the mines are hidden and flag them.
Our version offers three difficulty levels: Easy (9x9 with 10 mines), Medium (16x16 with 40 mines), and Hard (16x30 with 99 mines). Try to beat your best time on each difficulty level!
Benefits of Playing Minesweeper
Logical Thinking
Minesweeper requires careful analysis of the numbers revealed on the grid. Players must use logical deduction to determine which cells are safe and which contain mines.
Pattern Recognition
Experienced players learn to recognize common patterns in the numbers, allowing them to quickly identify safe cells and mine locations.
Risk Assessment
Sometimes you must make educated guesses. Minesweeper teaches you to assess probabilities and make calculated decisions under uncertainty.
Memory Training
Keeping track of flagged cells and remembering which areas are cleared helps improve working memory and spatial awareness.
How to Play Minesweeper
- Click a cell: Left-click (or tap) to reveal a cell. The first click is always safe.
- Read the numbers: Each number tells you how many of the 8 adjacent cells contain mines.
- Flag mines: Right-click (or long-press on mobile) to place a flag on cells you believe contain mines.
- Use logic: If a "1" cell already has one adjacent flagged mine, all other adjacent cells are safe.
- Win the game: Reveal all safe cells without clicking on any mines to win!
