Our free online trivia game puts more than 500 hand-checked trivia questions at your fingertips, spread across ten categories: General Knowledge, Science & Nature, Geography, History, Sports, Movies & TV, Music, Food & Drink, Animals, and Space & Technology. Every round is ten quick-fire questions against the clock, so a game takes about two minutes — perfect for a coffee break or a friendly showdown with family.
Rounds warm up gently and finish with the hard stuff: the first questions are easy, the middle ones are medium, and the last three are properly tough. Answer fast for a time bonus, chain correct answers for a streak multiplier, and read the short “Did you know?” fact after each question. Even when you miss, you walk away knowing something new.
There's nothing to download and no account needed. The game remembers which questions you've already seen and serves fresh ones first, picks up an unfinished round right where you left it, keeps your best score for every category, and ranks your top score on the global leaderboard. How to play Trivia

Tap Mixed Bag for questions from all ten categories, or pick a single topic you want to master. Each category tile shows your best score so far.

Beat the 15-second timer
Read the question and tap one of the four answers — or press 1–4 or A–D on a keyboard. The bar drains as time runs out and turns red in the last five seconds. If it empties, the question counts as a miss.

Learn from the reveal
The correct answer lights up green (and your pick turns red if it was wrong). A one-line Did you know? fact explains the answer, and the points breakdown shows your speed bonus and any streak multiplier.

Use your 50:50 wisely
Once per round you can remove two wrong answers. It's a lifesaver on a hard question, but that question is worth half points, so save it for when you're truly stuck.

After ten questions you'll see your score, correct answers, best streak and speed bonus. Hit Review answers to go over every question and fact, then play again for a fresh set.

Trivia tips and strategy
Protect your streak
The multiplier is where big scores come from: three in a row pays ×1.5 and six in a row pays ×2. A slightly slower correct answer is worth far more than a fast wrong one that resets your streak.
Eliminate before you guess
Even when you don't know the answer, you can often rule out one or two options that are clearly wrong. Guessing between two answers gives you a 50% chance instead of 25%.
Answer instantly when you're sure
The speed bonus is worth up to 100 points per question — as much as the base score. If you know it, tap it straight away rather than re-reading every option.
Save the 50:50 for the last three
The final three questions of every round are the hardest and carry a difficulty bonus. That's usually the best time to spend your lifeline.
Watch the wording
Words like “largest by area,” “closest living,” “first” and “adult” change the answer. For example, a newborn baby has more bones than an adult, so the adult count is the one being asked for.
Specialize, then mix
Playing one category several times in a row is a great way to learn it — the game shows you new questions first. Once your category bests climb, switch to Mixed Bag to test your all-round knowledge.
Read the Did you know? facts
Many facts connect to other questions. Learn that Mercury's symbol Hg comes from “water-silver,” and you'll be ready for a question about liquid metals or chemical symbols later.
How scoring works
Every correct answer earns 100 points, plus a difficulty bonus (+25 for medium, +50 for hard) and a speed bonus of up to 100 points depending on how much time is left on the clock. Your current streak then multiplies the total: ×1.5 from the third correct answer in a row, and ×2 from the sixth. Using the 50:50 lifeline halves the points for that one question.
A wrong answer or a timeout scores nothing and resets your streak. Your score for the round is ranked on the global leaderboard, and your best score for each category is saved on your device.

Where the word “trivia” comes from
“Trivia” comes from the Latin trivium, a place where three roads meet — the kind of crossroads where people stopped to swap small talk. Its modern meaning, fun facts of little importance, took off in the US in the 1960s, when trivia contests became a college craze. The board game Trivial Pursuit, created by Canadians Chris Haney and Scott Abbott, followed in the early 1980s and made quizzing a family pastime around the world.

How is the leaderboard score calculated?
Your round score is the sum of every correct answer's points: 100 base points, a difficulty bonus, a speed bonus of up to 100, and your streak multiplier. The highest possible round needs ten fast correct answers in a row without using the 50:50.
